International Baccalaureate

What is the IB?

  • The curriculum of the IB Diploma Programme (DP) is complete, rigorous and balanced. It addresses the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students, offering a solid base for undertaking higher studies.

  • The international recognition of the Diploma favors student mobility and access to higher education in foreign universities. Its prestige facilitates access to the most selective universities, both national and international.

  • The curriculum is constantly revised and improved, always adapting it to current needs. All teachers are also subject to rigorous quality controls.

  • Students develop skills such as oral and written expression, critical thinking, academic work, research, etc.

How is it structured?

The student must necessarily complete 3 interdisciplinary core components, based on analytical reflection, creativity and research. Likewise, the student takes six subjects from different areas of knowledge:  3 at higher level (HL) and 3 at standard level (SL).

Does it allow me to access Spanish universities?

The school collaborates with UNED to facilitate the homologation of the DP and allow students to access the university access system of each of the autonomous communities. EIC also offers the possibility of studying the DP together with subjects of the Catalan Baccalaureate, providing the opportunity to our students to take part in the PAU exams.
