An EIC student gets an Extraordinary High School Award

An EIC student receives an Oustanding High School Award Gunnar Montseny Gens has obtained the Outstanding High School Award in the 2019-20 PAU exams after having scored excellent results.

This award is recognition by the Generalitat de Catalunya for the effort and academic merit of the students who have graduated with the highest results, and aims to encourage further excellence. Therefore the winners have an explicit mentionn in their academic records, they are exempt from university fees during the first year, they obtain a free place in the Official School of Languages and are a point of reference. In addition, they are eligible for the National Baccalaureate Award granted by the Ministry of Education.
Gunnar, having successfully completed the International Baccalaureate (IBDP) and Catalan programmes, wasa a member of a class which, despite adversities, graduated with remarkable results and is now studying at major universities around the world. After having obtained honours and having been distinguished at the PAU, Gunnar is currently studying for a Dual Degree in Physics and Mathematics at the UAB after a difficult choice in a year conditioned by the COVID-19. He also had an offer from Imperial College, London but in the end went for the UAB.

We are very happy to have been part of this process and we congratulate Gunnar and his colleagues for their successes throughout their time at the EIC and we wish them the best of luck from now on.
